"We have been working together already for a few years. But we really felt the urge, after so many years in hospitality, to start our own business. We shared our visions, the investments, the work, the pleasure yet also the risks. We found a great location in Ghent with a nice vibe. A spot that brings people together.
We wanted it to be an informal dining place, where you can sit, socialize, have fun and share the dishes we make. And it worked. From day 1. So after one year, we extended the activities of VOS there with a daytime kitchen, offering good coffee, gourmet sandwiches, viennoiserie and cakes… So VOS grew into a concept where you can hang out almost all day.
We love to work out dishes with only a few ingredients. Not that it’s a rule. It’s more like our instinct. We simply don’t like it when the focus is taken away by too many ingredients… Simplicity is often better… I love to travel and pick up influences from everywhere. Street food and sharing plates from all over the world were the starting point for VOS.
