World Chocolate Masters: national selections dedicated to “haute couture”
The World Chocolate Masters is the premier global event for
chocolatiers, patissiers and pastry chefs. The search for the
worlds greatest exponent of chocolate work begins now with a series
of National Selections to be held throughout all corners of the
earth and ending with a World final in October 2009.
The UK National Pre-Selection of the World Chocolate Masters will
take place at the Restaurant Show on 6th October
2008. The winner of the competition will receive the title
of UK Chocolate Master and will represent Great Britain at the
World Final.
The organisers of the event, Callebaut, Cacao Barry and Carma are
seeking applications from potential competition participants who
would like the opportunity to challenge themselves against the best
chocolate professionals in the world.
“Haute couture”, a perfect pairing with chocolate
The theme of this, the third World Chocolate Master competition, is
built around the theme of “Haute Couture”. Panels of International
Jury Members will, in each country, be looking to see how
participants in the competition manage to create subtle
combinations of delicious chocolate creations with the aesthetics
of high fashion.
During the one-day contest each contestant will be asked to present
a chocolate showpiece, a moulded a dipped praline, a pastry and a
small showpiece from a “Mystery Box” of ingredients.
